Fixed an issue where generating a sample meal plan during onboarding always failed silently, and improved the AI Hub experience for free users.

• Sample Meal Plan – The "Generate a sample meal plan" button during onboarding now works correctly, seeding 3 starter recipes assigned to Monday, Wednesday, and Friday dinners.

• AI Hub Clarity – Plan My Week, Fill Empty Slots, and Quick Meal buttons are now visually disabled for free users with clear upgrade messaging, instead of showing confusing 403 errors.

We fixed several issues in the signup onboarding flow so new users get a better first impression.

• Skip button now works – The "I've already set things up — skip" link on the welcome screen was silently failing. It now correctly completes onboarding and seeds starter recipes so you don't land on an empty app.

• Smarter sample plan – The sample meal plan now uses the household size you selected instead of always defaulting to 4 servings.

• Error messages shown – Save errors during onboarding are now displayed as toast notifications instead of being silently swallowed.

• Streamlined steps – Removed duplicate Back buttons, the Generate plan option now starts immediately on click, and the tour step shows the correct keyboard shortcut for your platform.

• Smart Category Detection – Adding "garlic powder" now correctly files under Spices instead of Produce. The system consults 500+ ingredient mappings automatically.

• Tap to Change Category – Tap any item's category icon to reclassify it. Your corrections teach the system for future items.

• Search & FAB – A search bar filters your pantry instantly, and a floating "Add Item" button gives quick access to manual entry, barcode scanning, or receipt upload.

• Cook With What You Have – A new emerald-themed section suggests recipes you can make right now, ranked by how many ingredients you already own.

• Collapsible Expiring Section – Expiring items now show 2 items by default with a "Show more" toggle, keeping the viewport uncluttered.
